RUSH FAQs
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we have received regarding rush as well as Alpha Kappa Psi:
Q: Do I have to be a JMU student to rush?
A: Yes. We are currently accepting all JMU students as well as those students that may be transferring in from another Alpha Kappa Psi Chapter.
Q: My major is not considered a "business" major, am I still able to rush?
A: Yes, you may still rush. Alpha Kappa Psi accepts students of ALL majors. Nu Psi has brothers that are Accounting, International Business, Communications, Biology, Art History majors and more. We also accept those that are still Undeclared.
Q: I'm a female, can I rush AKPsi which is considered a fraternity?
A: Yes you may rush. Alpha Kappa Psi is a CO-ED professional business fraternity. We have male and female brothers.
Q: I've rushed AKPsi before. Is it possible for me to rush again?
A: Yes, you are welcomed and encouraged to come out and rush again. Please note that we will be observing you as if you had not previously rushed as to ensure fair and equal treatment to all rushees. Rushing a second time does not guarantee that you will be accepted into the pledging process.
Q: How much of a time commitment would pledging AKPsi be?
A: Our pledging process would be equivalent to taking an additional course during the semester. It would, however, be the best course you have ever taken!
Q: Why should I rush and pledge AKPsi?
A: As a brother, not only will you have a chance to develop your professional skills, but you will also have access to an extensive alumni network, a chance to give back to the community, and another way to meet and network with lifelong friends.
